Marketplace of ideas

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere. – Albert Einstein

Can you imagine the world without ideas? It’s not possible, right? Every single innovation and change starts with an idea. Everyone of us has ideas. Some of our ideas are already implemented, some are still waiting to be. At the same time there is also someone somewhere who is probably waiting to be inspired by your idea. Therefore on the second day of the 10th Congress of Baltic Librarians we will organize the Marketplace of ideas.

When?: 13 October, 2015, 09.00–12.00 (including preparation from 09.00; we will start sharing of ideas from 10.00)

Where?: Conference center of the National Library of Latvia

What?: Exhibition – marketplace of ideas where libraries from all Baltic states will share their ideas through presenting projects, exhibitions, success stories and case studies.

How?: If your library would like to participate you will need handouts, information, visual presentation in either analogue or digital format as well as storyteller who will be willing to tell about library’s idea to anyone entering the market. We will provide a space but content, presentation and performance will be library’s responsibility. It can be anything in the library’s booth that shows how dynamic is your library and your library staff both in the premises of your library and outside the walls.

Marketplace visitors will be able to visit following pavilions:

  • Libraries of Vidzeme region (Latvia)
  • Libraries of Latgale region (Latvia)
  • Libraries of Zemgale region (Latvia)
  • Libraries of Kurzeme region (Latvia)
  • Libraries of Riga and Riga subburbs (Latvia)
  • Libraries of Lithuania
  • Libraries of Estonia
  • Library partners (Baltic)
